Welcome to our new website!


The Chelmer Cycling Club truly is a 'club for everyone'. We pride ourselves on catering for absolute beginners, weekend casual riders, to out and out racers who 'live on their bikes'.

Whether you are looking for racing, coaching & training, leisure & tour cycling, family rides, group training rides, a great social atmosphere with year round social & racing events, or simply a club to belong to where you will always be welcomed no matter how often you take to the road, then we at ‘Chelmer’ have the answer!

We are also proud to be involved and associated with 'Bikeability' National Standard Cycle Training (the Department of Transport recommended successor to Cycling Proficiency) for adults and youngsters, and to work in conjunction with Essex County Council. See link to 'Cycle Training East' below.

We are a British Cycling 'Clubmark Go Ride' Club and also hold 'Club SX Gold' Accreditation from 'Essex Active Sports.' Because of these coveted kite-mark standards, you can be assured our club has all the policies in place to provide the best practises and experience for you and all our members.

Club event Thursday 22/7/10 - E91/10 7.15pm start


Jeff Wade and Antony Stapleton will be hosting a nutrition and bike fit evening next Wednesday, 7th July. Jeff will give a talk called ‘Training to Train’ and will cover the basic of training including diet and nutrition. Antony will be available afterwards to give advice on bike position. Please bring your bike and bike shoes with you if you would like help with your bike set up.
